Hyakunin Isshu — Memorize by Typing
- Mode A: The upper verse is shown. Type the lower verse in romaji.
- Mode B: The lower verse is shown. Type the kimariji in romaji.
- Mode C: The lower verse is shown. Type the upper verse in romaji.
- Practice with just the 20 poems from a single color of the Five-Color Hyakunin Isshu set (blue, pink, yellow, green, orange).
- Typing follows modern kana usage (gendai kana-zukai).
- When you finish typing, your time and KPM (characters typed per minute) are shown. Both are measured from the moment you start typing until you finish — time spent just looking at the question isn't counted.
- For the kimariji mode only, the timer starts the instant the question appears, and KPM is calculated from that.
- A higher KPM means faster, smoother typing. Poems you know well tend to score higher, so a low KPM is a good way to spot the cards you still need to practice.
- For smartphones (flick input), try this version instead.
